Carol
T. Williams
is a native of Central Ohio, and the single parent of one child.
She attended Columbus Technical Institute, where she earned her
Associates of Applied Science degree in Computer Science. She
is also a graduate of FranklinUniversity, where she earned her
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Carol has worked
as a Computer Consultant for many years, in all facets of the
Management Information Systems arena.
In 1993, Carol founded Systems Documentation
and Planning, a Technical Consulting firm responsible for:
Business Planning, and Writing. Throughout the years she provided
Technical Writing (i.e. standards and procedures, user manuals,
training manuals, technical proposals (Response for Proposal,
Request for Information, etc.), training, and desktop publishing
to public and private business sectors. She was a Consultant to
the Central Ohio Small Business Development
Center, whereby she developed business plans to initiate
funding for small start-up businesses.
With her love
for writing, in 1997, she began to explore different grounds and
worked toward a new level of writing:
In
1997, Carol was presented the “Editor’s
Choice Award” for outstanding achievement in poetry,
by The National Library of Poetry. Her works have appeared in such
anthologies as, “The Other Side of Midnight”.
In
1998, she was selected for print in the genre “All
The Man I Need - Black Women’s Loving Expressions On The Men
They Desire” published by Gateway Publishers, Newark,
New Jersey.
In
July of 1999 Carol self-published her first book of selected writings
titled “BELLOWS from THE SOUL.”
She is a poet and novelist, bringing experience as an African-American
writer to the Central Ohio community.
In
October 2000, she founded Rave Publications,
whereby she published her second book of writings titled “On
The Wings of Faith,” in the Spring 2001.
In
2004, Carol was presented the “Editor’s
Choice Award” for outstanding achievement in poetry,
by The National Library of Poetry. In 2005 and 2006, she again,
received the same award.
Carol
has been called on to speak at various local events, committees,
and schools throughout the Central Ohio area: Columbus Area Inc.,
Columbus School For Girls, Shepard Branch Library, and Spirited
Sisters (2002), as she delivered a seminar on “How
to Self-Publish.” Future/upcoming
releases include novels: “THE CAGE UNLEASHED”
and “FOR LOVE ALONE.”
